Extracting results to a web service

Hi, I'm a web developer working with Storyline for the first time. I need to extract quizz and result data from Storyline to an external web service and I'm not sure what my options are for doing so. I've had a look at the Tin Can API but our LRS doesn't support Tin Can. Also our "LMS" is actually a CMS so we can't really publish results to it.

Ideally I'd like to reach in to Storyline via Javascript, gather up results, and ship them out to the web service. Alternatively, I could embed or attach a similar piece of JS in the Storyline course--if that's remotely possible. 

Are these options realistic? Is there a better way to do what I'm after?
