I have a resources list on my new storyline project, and when testing I realise that different browsers react differently to opening documents, some open in new tabs, others new windows, others just open.
Is there any way I can set the resources to open in a new window?
I'm not sure there's a way to force the resources to open in a new window - I think they open based on how the browser being used is configured. For instance, if a user has Chrome set to open links in a new window, the resource should open in a new window. Whereas a different user might have Firefox configured to open links in the same window, so they would probably see the resource opened in the same window.
Based on your own testing, does that seem to be the case?
Yes, it does seem to depend on the browser, so I'll just have to put some guidance in about setting the browser up properly and hope that it doesn't affect people too much.
This was particularly a problem with the ipad - the link would replace the unit and then when you went 'back' it started the course again. Messed everything up!
Yeah, I could see that being a real headache. To foolproof the course and prevent it from starting over on iPad, would forcing resume be an option for you?
