Formatting issue when importing a quiz: re-sizing and re-positioning the text

May 14, 2015

When I import questions from an excel sheet, the question text is too large and I can't find out how to re-position the question text and answer choices so that they fit where I want them.

Question text and answer are not formatted correctly.

Hi, Greg - To the best of my knowledge, you should be able to import questions from Excel without issues, so there are a few things we can try to rule out some common issues.

Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline to address erratic behavior.

Hi, Dave -- As this discussion was initiated some time ago and we haven't received an update from Greg, I wanted to let you know that you would be welcome to reach out to him directly via the 'Contact Me' link on his profile page to ask if he reached a resolution.

Or, if you have already reviewed the troubleshooting steps I shared above and you continue to have difficulties, please let us know and we'll see what more we can do to assist!

What I ended up having to do was select the applicable slides and then right click and change the layout to match the slide layout that I want. The content's position will change slightly, but if I do it a second time, everything will then align properly.

One thing that I noticed is it seems the question must always be above the answer choices. There were design layouts that I tinkered with previously in which I wanted to put the question on the left and the answer choices on the right, but I was never able to figure that out.
