Formatting of Essay Text Box Not Translating Correctly When Loaded to LMS?

Apr 15, 2015

Hello,

I have an evaluation in Storyline 1, Update 8 with three slides containing separate "Essay" question style text boxes. In the file I have them formatted with a background color, outline, shading, and text indicating the type of information that should be entered. However, when I upload the file to our LMS and view the slides, the formatting is non-existent and the text appears as "type your text here" instead of what I entered. Does anyone know what could have happened?

Here's an example of what the Essay text box looks like in my previewing of the file:

And here's what it looks like when I view the slide when loaded to our LMS:

I recently had to reformat my computer and re-download Storyline 1. All I could find was the Update 8 edition, but I am not entirely certain if I had Update 7 or even Update 6. This file has been in progress for a few months, and previously I didn't have an issue with the formatting. I'm only having an issue now after downloading SL1, Update 8. Is there somewhere I could download Updates 7 or 6 to test whether that is the issue?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Melanie

Hi Melanie,

SL1 update 8 is the latest update, and we don't publicly post previous update downloads, as the latest update includes all the bug fixes for issues that still existed in previous updates. In regards to the issue you're seeing, you mentioned it's only occurring in Firefox? Do you know what update of Firefox and Flash you're running? Have you also looked into testing this outside your LMS to see if that's also interfering with the Firefox set up? You could use a site such as SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.

If you're still having difficulty, can we see a sample .story file of how you've set up this formatting?
