Fraude when printing certificate offline
Oct 12, 2015
Hi there, I have to publish a lot of content offline as my clients operate in remote areas. One of the found out that after doing the quiz, clicking the print button and filling in your name to generate a certificate, it is easy to return to the result page again and print a new certificate, using a new name. This is making fraud very easy according my client and I tend to agree. I have been fiddling with variables but without success.
I just want the program to return to the start of the course, but after filling and being able to print the certificate, making it each time a one time event.
Is there anybody out there with the same problem and maybe a solution? It would be highly appreciated!

Hi John,
This has been a topic before - and you may want to reach out to the other users here to see how they handled it. Have you looked at disabling the "print" button once the user has clicked on it? That would cause it so that they could only print one and if they used the button and forgot to actually save or print it, they may be out of luck - but it's an option worth investigating.
Hi Ashley, thanks for sharing and setting the state of the Print certificate button to disabled sounds like what I'm looking for. However, merely adding a trigger to change the state after clicking doesn't do the job I'm afraid as you still are able to print and refill in another name. It would need some kind of variable or so. Attached is what I've done. Any suggestion is more than welcome :-) Regards
Hi Ashely,
I just tried working a variable as attached thinking that this would do the trick but without ay luck. I must be doin something wrong I'm afraid. Regards,
Hi John,
It looks like you're setting it to disabled if only the state is visited - but why not just set it to disabled when the user clicks? You'll also want to make sure the slide is set to "resume saved state" so that if the user comes back to it they won't be able to print again.
If you're having difficulty with this, can you share your .story file so that we can take a look at the set up and what's occurring?
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for coming back and indeed that's what I initially did. Just tried it again an a test file (attached) but when you fill in your can fill in your name again and again. It appears the Print button doesn't get disabled somehow. I have attached the Story file as suggested and really appreciate your help! Best regards,
Hi John,
Change the trigger order so that "disable" comes first and also just to make it easier to see this work I changed the color of the disabled state. I published it here - and after I've clicked and seen the pop up and the results generated I can't click on it again.
