GAme score

Hope someone can help.
Trying to create a game score. 10points for the correct answer, 5 points if wrong. I'd like the score to remain on the screen and change as the answer is correct or incorrect. I think I could accomplish this with states but that's a lot of triggers.
Is there a way to do this with variables. Would the variable be able to change the number score on the screen. The asset for the score board is a square with a number (its not an image). I'd prefer not using the quiz option as I dont need it to report to an LMS, it's a game.

Create a number variable to hold the score. Create a text box. For the text, go to Insert on the ribbon, and choose Reference. You'll get a drop-down menu of all the variables. Choose the right one, and whenever the variable is changed, the text in the box will change.
