Garbled Text on Content Slides

Nov 19, 2017

Hi All,

When I import a slide from the content library, the text on some parts of it appears garbled. This happens both with a new slide (that I have just imported and not modified in any way), and with my own modifications to the slides.

It happens with multiple different templates and fonts. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Storyline, and I have updated Articulate 360.

Another thing that is happening (perhaps related?) is that the icons in the content library keep disappearing. Sometimes I can download icons but sometimes that is not an option. If I click on "insert icon" it defaults to photos instead.

Is it possible the content library file is corrupt and needs to be fixed? And if so how do I do that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Crystal,

I was not seeing the garbling while editing, only on preview.

I am using Windows 7 and Chrome on a PC, and working on my own local C drive.

The garbling has continued to happen with some (not all) of the content library slides.

I have been able to work around it by removing the text boxes from the content library slide, and replacing  with  text boxes made starting from a layout on another slide.

Thanks for your help!

Hey Rebecca!

Thanks for those details. I did a quick test on my end and wasn't able to reproduce what you're describing so I'll need your help to narrow down the cause.

Would you mind sharing your .story file so we can take a closer look? You can add it to a comment using the Add Attachment feature in the reply window here in the discussion.

Also, just to verify- when you go to Help > About Storyline, what version does it say you're on in the lower right hand corner of the popup window?

Let me know!
