Graphic "state" doesn't work properly this week

Jan 17, 2024

I encountered some issues while updating an existing course created before 2023. The course worked fine earlier and was live for 1 year. However, I faced problems updating the content this week. Specifically, there was an issue with the drag-and-drop activity, and the design I had created was no longer functioning properly.

I have attached the .story file of the scene where I encountered the issue and also included a video file to show the original design. If you preview the storyline file in the latest Articulate 360, you will see that it is not working as it used to when previewing this scene.

Due to this issue arising this week, it is affecting our 30 translated courses to be launched in 2 weeks.

Please let me know if there is anything I need to be aware of with the new version of Articulate. Thank you!!

I played your .story file. I see your issue. Hopefully a staff member will jump in and comment.

I have experienced many different issues like this updating older .story files with new. I have found it to be a longer process than expected due to the need to make a lot of changes and not just update. As with many different programs I use to update things, new programs don't always just update, they make or change the way thing work, look, or react to commands.

I know this is not a lot of help for you, but my advice would be to remove the drag-and-drop here and just have them click on each to view and hear the audio. Then change the state or let them hear it as many times as they want. I think your time will be better spent.

Good luck.

Hi Eric, thanks for your comment. I was thinking the same thing about removing the activity or redesigning it to something simpler. However, I have 30 courses to deliver in 2 weeks. Redesigning the drag-and-drop design won't be workable; rework the slides in 30 courses and test them before launching them. These courses worked perfectly fine last week. :(

Hi Sharon!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Smart move on opening a support case! I see that you've connected with my colleague Mick. It looks like Mick shared this behavior may be related to a bug our development team is tracking. I've linked this discussion to the bug report so you can be notified as soon as a fix is in place.

Thank you for your patience, and I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!
