Grouping stops a texbox from being clickable
Jan 29, 2015
Hi,
Storyline 2 update 4
This is an odd one.
With a unfilled text box, the clickable space is the size of the text box.
If you group this with the donut shape, the only part of the group that is clickable is the donut, not the text box area or even the text in it. The text box is in front of the donut.
If you fill the text box background and group it with the donut, then the click space is the size of the text box, and donut combined. There are a few gaps which are not clickable - which is as I would expect.
If you put an oval behind the donut, don' t fill the text box and group all three objects then all the space including the text is clickable. This seems to be the workaround, but its irritating to put a redundant shape in just to make the group work as a clickable area!
Simplified example version here. The second one down on the left shows the problem.

Any thoughts?

Hi Karl,
Have you tried adding the text box into the Normal state of the donut shape instead of just placing it on top of the object on the slide? I think that this is an easy solution to the problem that you are seeing here.
