So I came across this thread before where a "hack" was used to play background music continuously throughout the course. I've been using it for a couple years now but this week when I tried it out, it wouldn't work anymore.
It works when I view it from the published output where I edit the story.html and story_html5.html files. However, after I zip all the files up, then I unzip it again, it doesn't work anymore.
I'm required to zip it up to upload to Google Drive to share with colleagues so they can test.
Anyone have the same problem and possibly know of a solution/alternate hack?
I can't seem to get the audio to play when I publish the file you shared in the other thread. I tried doing the steps you wrote and changing out the Main.mp3 but I still can't get the music to play.
I'm also not really knowledgeable about JavaScript so it could be me that's messing it up!

Is it happening in Chrome 66 or newer only? This sounds like it is related to the way Chrome no longer allows autoplay of audio in most circumstances.
Hi Chelsea,
can you try this instead? It's only a bit more complicated to set up, but doesn't require "post-publish surgery".
Let us know how it goes.
Hope it helps,
Alex
Hi Alexandros,
Thanks for the response!

Hi Will,
Yeah, I'm testing on Chrome 66. I had a feeling it's related to that too since it used to work before.
Does it work for you still?
Hi again! I was actually able to make it work! However, when I zip the published output up then unzip again, it won't work again :(
