Since PowerPoint doesn't have text wrap for images, we've got a lot of slides where we've used a hard return (shift+enter) to go to a new line without starting a new bullet point. It's not ideal, but it works.
However, when I import into Storyline and go to animate the bullet points, the hard returns throw everything off. It seems I'm stuck with deleting the image and eliminating the hard returns or going without animations for those slides.
I just tried to recreate what you described and things appear to work as expected. In my file, Storyline treated the line break as an extra, empty text line.
Can you post a sample slide so we can take a closer look at what's going on?
Now that I've asked for help, I'm not able to recreate it either. Maybe they fixed it in the last update? In any case, glad it's not doing it anymore, and thanks for following up.

Great and no worries! It's totally possible things got updated in the most recent update.
Glad things are working now!
