Having Trouble

Jun 05, 2013

I am adding captions to pop up during a video and everytime after I insert one, I have to start the whole video over because when I pause it, it just starts from the beginning when I press play again. Does anybody know how to do this? I could do my job so much faster if I didn't have to start the video over every time.

Welcome to the community, Ashley!

I'm guessing you're referring to paying the video in the slide, so you know when to add the captions to the timeline. Is that right?

When you're playing the video and you need to make note of a section, you can use cue points. To add cue points on-the-fly, click the Play button in the lower-left of the timeline, and then press on your keyboard at any point where you want to insert a cue point.

You can also try using the Spacebar to pause the timeline while it's playing. Maybe this will work better for you?

This may not keep you from having to watch the video multiple times, but it may help cut down on the number of times you need to go back to the video.

Here's a list of keyboard shortcuts that may be helpful as well.

I hope this helps!
