help is very confusing for a new user
Aug 02, 2012
just purchased storyline, trying to create my first online training & cant seem to tailor searches so it just looks in storyline help - also brings up very old posts, help on how to do something while creating things in storyline but not how to change the user experience.
questions, how do i change the course so users can hit enter or other keys to advance (next not accessible)?
how do i take off animations on a page?
how do i get Page # off my slides (it show Page #, not actual numbers

To advance with a key--set up a trigger to do so--you can choose this option in triggers.
To remove animations, use that tab at the top of the screen.
When you first open Storyline, not opening a new project, there are a few screenr/tutorials on the main page. I would recommend watching all of those to get started.
Good luck and welcome to Storyline and the forums!!
Sorry--to remove 'next' and 'previous' buttons, in story view, choose all the slides you want to remove the button for, and uncheck the box to the right side of the screen.
I'm guessing the page numbers are on your master slide--I would try checking there (view, slide master).
i have a slide that has floating text come in later - we want that out - is that an animation? which tab? animation? i have everything i see shut down - still floats in ;(
i took tutorials - didsnt stick or cover what i need
i know i can put a trigger in each slide - what i want is a way to make that trigger work on every slide
thanks for you help - frustrated - not finding this prosduct intuitive at all
Hi Karter - I'm so glad you posted here in the forums, since that's the best way to get clarification on stuff that you might be having trouble with! Regarding the text that is appearing later than what you want, here's a quick look at how you can change the timing or get rid of the animation.
You also mentioned you have a trigger that you want to apply to every slide. Did you try Kate's suggestion about using a slide master for that? Can you say a little more about the trigger you're working with and how you want it to behave?
Oops, sorry, the initial link on my last post was wrong. Fixed.
