I have a very simple storyline project that is 2.04mb. which is .04 mb over limit for the wordpress website it needs to be added to!! I deleted a slide layer and 3 triggers... didnt budge the file size one bit!!
Any ideas what might be worth .04 mb that I could delete?
For example--can anyone tell me between a new slide and a slide layer which is a bigger file size? There are a few slides I could reduce into layers...but dont want to go through all this if its not going to reduce the size. Thank you to anyone who can help!!!
Sarah, another option you might want to consider is to tweak your publish quality settings. If you reduce the image quality, it may reduce your file size.
So this isn't related to your publish settings, but you can ask your hosting provider to override your 2mb upload limit.
You can override this by modifying the php.ini files. I use Media Temple hosting and found the process easy. Here's an article that shows you exactly what to do. Depending on your hosting company, you may have to go through slightly different steps. I'd recommend you also search your hosting company's knowledge base for their required steps. The .ini file may not be visible in your root directory so that's why you need to ask how your hosting company allows you to modify it.
I hope that helps. The process is easy--it's just a little different for each hosting company.
You can also upload your files to your WordPress site using FTP. You would then link to the story.html file from your blog post. This is my preferred method since I can better control how the course is presented rather than scrunching things down to fit in the article post.

Try putting all images that are repeated on several slides onto a master slide.
Storyline remembers cropped areas of images, so take those images outside of storyline to crop them. Insert as smaller images.
Do you have higher resolution on your images than you need?
Good tips, Meryem!
