At a guess I would say the problem is that your drop zones are overlapping. Try taking the sleeves image and splitting it in two so you have a left and right, then create drop zones to the left and right of the centre (apron?) one.
Hope that makes sense, if not just let me know and I can mock up a quick example.

Well, I got it to work, but it doesn't look as good as this other slide I am trying to copy.
Any assistance is appreciated.
hmmm.....I see your point upon completion could you fade in the image over the top?
Or remove the background from the drag and drop pictures so it's less jarring?
