Help with Editing at SL Template

Hi,

I'm trying to edit the icons in tabs interaction in the Serenity template.  However, when I do so the interaction stops working properly.  Either the new icons don't move with the rest of the tab when hovered over or selected, or I get a duplicate icon in the original position and then in the new position.  I have tried to mimic all of the settings in the original template but it doesn't seem to work for me.  I've also tried grouping and ungrouping and nothing helps.  Can someone please help?  

In the example below, you will see what I tried to do in the first 2 tabs and what it is supposed to look like in the rest of them.
