Help with Layers

Aug 03, 2022

Hi Everyone,  I am new to articulate and I am looking for some expert help!

I am trying to make a 'button' for my users to press. I have created the button in photoshop and in Articulate it has 4 states:

Disabled (This is the initial state)

Hover

Visited

Normal

All the states are the same size and in the exact same place, however their outline is peeping through, I have tried editing the size of the behind states (the hover, visited, normal) and I can't seem to make them smaller without distorting the image. Is there a way to hide the back states while in it's disabled state? All images are exactly the same, just recoloured, so I can't understand why they are peeping through!

Thanks in advance,

Lily :)

Hi, Lily!

Did you use masks while creating the images in Photoshop? If there's even the slightest discrepancy in the mask, you could see a one or two pixel outline peeking out. The two things that could possibly cause this are:

  1. There's feathering on the mask or...
  2. The magic wand tool was used to create the mask.

Sometimes when you create masks using the magic wand it can omit a one pixel edge. If this either of these things end up being the case, go back and recreate the buttons with the elliptical marquee or the lasso.

Thanks for reaching out!
