Help with timeline on a Youtube video

Aug 25, 2021

I am having some timing issues with one of my Youtube videos. With all things being equal, this slide will not advance automatically at the end of the timeline. I have attached a shot of the storyline and a shot in "review". Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello Aileen!

Thank you for providing screenshots! It looks like you have the correct trigger to jump to the next slide when the timeline finishes. Have you adjusted the timeline to be the full length of the video?

In addition, have you added a trigger to play the media? That should help as well.

If you'd like to share your .story file, feel free to attach it to this public discussion or share it privately in a support case.

Hi there, thank you for your response and my apologies for my delayed reply. I am under a deadline so started creating content directly in Rise 360 but really want to get Storyline sorted out for the flexibility it offers. I have attached the .story file.

Hello! I am sorry to crash your thread but can you tell me more about the change in your ability to embed YouTube videos? I am trying to add a YouTube video to my course - I have tried as  an embed video and and as a web object. My first issue is that I cannot get them to autoplay. Based on my Google search that could be the changes with the browser settings restricting autoplay. Then I tried to find a workaround, but it is as though the triggers are not recognizing the video/media or any action that the user takes with the media. For example, I added a rectangle and added a trigger to change the state of the rectangle to hidden when user clicks outside of an object on the slide - then I added the trigger play media when the state of the rectangle is hidden. The state of my rectangle changes but the media does not respond.

I am curious if you figured out a way around this.
