hidden character pops in at the beginning of the timeline

I have a character that is triggered to be hidden at the start of the timeline and appear at a later place in the timeline. But he flickers in momentarily when the timeline starts. How can I make him stay hidden until I want him?

Hi. There are a few things I'd try:

Check the trigger for hiding the character to make sure it is the first trigger on the slide so it happens first.
Adjust the character image on the timeline so it is set to display closer to the time you actually want the state to change to visible
If those don't work, you could set the entrance animation to fade in so you would not see that flicker.

Hi Mary,

Along with Ryan's helpful tips, you may also try setting the initial state of the character to Hidden and include a trigger to set it to Normal at a later time.
