Remove a character from a slide

Nov 05, 2020

I am using a Quiz slide with a built in character.  I don't want the character in the slide.  I can cut him from the base layer, but I am not able to cut him from the other slide layers.  Is there an easy way to get him out of the slide all together?

Hi Brooke,

It sounds as if the character may be set up in a master slide layout, in which case you need to open the Slide Master and edit it accordingly.

Alternatively, if the character is showing in the timeline, but you are unable to select it, just check that it's not locked or that it doesn't have a transparent rectangle over the top of it to prevent it being selected.

Thanks for the reply! I am not able to edit it in the Master section. It is not showing there. It is one of the premade templates. I could delete it from the timeline in the base layer, but it was still in the other slide layers and not showing up in those timelines.

It is the serenity template…Multiple choice Quiz. I would like to remove the character from one layer.

Hi Brooke,

In order to be able to edit the Feedback layout, you need to edit the Feedback Master as opposed to the Slide Master set. To access this, select your feedback slide and then click on the Edit link in the Feedback Master section in the top right of the screen:

Once you have done this, you will be able to easily remove the character. Just repeat the process for each feedback slide that you wish to change.
