'Hide Layer' trigger not working on draw from bank quiz

I have created a set of 40 assessment questions. Using triggers, I have included a custom 'no submit' layer that will appear if a user clicks the submit button without selecting an answer. The 'no submit' slide has a 'hide this layer' trigger on a button to return to the question.

This set of triggers works absolutely fine on other question throughout the module. It doesn't work for the questions I have created and brought into the module using a 'draw from question' slide. I'm using exactly the same triggers as before. Has anyone come across this problem before?

I'd really rather not use the built-in no submit feature if at all possible as the look & feel of the module is very different.
