SL has default states so you don't need to create a custom 'Hoover' state and you don't need the trigger that you created.
So in the first slide I
delete the 'Hoover' state and I added the default 'Hover' state.
deleted the triggered associated with your 'Hoover' state
and added a trigger - Change state of red/silver to 'explosion' when user clicks red/silver.
So what happens, the red/silver present starts life in 'Normal state'. SL knows when the user hovers the mouse over and changes the state automatically to 'Hover state' - which has the 'click me' instruction on it. The user clicks the present and the new trigger says change the state to explosion and keep it like that.
Here is the updated story file - only slide 1 touched and only the red/silver present.

Hi Niomi
check the hover state options in the trigger to see if Restore on mouse leave is checked or unchecked
Hi Wendy
I tried that but the present still flipped back to closed if the mouse hovered back over the present.
I guess I just want it to do the hoover trigger one time and then become disabled, leaving the present open.
Is there a way to achieve this?
Thank you
Niomi
Hi Niomi
I duplicated your slide and changed the triggers and states...take a look.
Wendy
I have tried to apply the condition you wrote to my project. But I must be missing something. I have attached the project for your review and help.
