Hover layers initially but changes layer to permanent when clicked

I have an initial slide where we are sharing the components of the call flow. Initially, as the learner hovers over different parts of the call flow, the names of the components appear and disappear when they move their mouse. Works beautifully. Then, when they click on the component it takes them to a section to learn more. When they return to the circle again to select the next component of the call flow, I want the layer with the name of the component to stay up. However when the learner hovers back over the layer, it disappears - or at least that what seems to trigger the disappearance.
I've shared images of the screen and an example of how the layers are setup.
Any thoughts on how to make this work as intended?

As a side note, I want the text to hide when they hover off until they click the component. Once they click the component, I want it to stay.
Hi Deidre,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your images! It sounds like you may need to add the built-in Visited state to each component and remove the words from that state.
I'm not sure why the Hover would trigger a disappearance, but if you are comfortable with sharing your .story file, you can share it publicly here, or privately with me here. I'll delete it when we nail down what's going on!
Thank you! I sent the file privately to you along with some additional details. I appreciate your help.
