We are testing the Articulate Storyline application for developing m-learning apps but we have a fundamental problem. We need to disable scrubbing beyond what the user has viewed. In other words, we don't want the user to scrub to the end of the video and force him/her to play the whole video.
Can I control the functionality of the scrub bar with javascript or action script or is there an easier solution.
The only way to accomplish this currently is to uncheck the seekbar in the player options. There isn't a way to do it like there is in Presenter at this time. It would make a great feature request.
That being said you can make your own custom play/pause/stop buttons etc, but no way to duplicate the effect of the seekbar other than the built in one.

Hi Randy,
Welcome to Heroes. Do you need the seekbar?
Always Happy to Help,
Adrian
I need to not allow the user to seek forward.
Hi Randy,
That why I asked if you needed the seekbar? Is it important for your users to see how far along they are with the video?
Adrian
Good question!
That would be something I need to ask our client(s).
What are you thinking?
I am open to suggestions.
By the way I am wanting this to work on the iPad.
