how do I send someone a storyline source file for editing?

Feb 16, 2021

Hi,

I have developed a project in Storyline and have published the course for other organisations to upload to their own LMS. My understanding was that they would be able to edit/contextualise the project for their own use with the contents of the published file but I have had one organisation reply and tell me they need the source file to be able to do this.

I was under the impression that the .story files contained in the zip compressed file allows this and is the source file. Am I wrong, if so, how do I send someone a storyline source file for editing?

Thank you in advance!

Hi, Lauren,

The .story file is the source file. You can transfer that file via email (if it's small enough) or via online storage options, such as Box. The other person will need an active Storyline license to open the file.

The published files for a course don't include the .story source file. They do include a story.html file. That is the file for playing the published course.
