How do i set Dial to turn counter clockwise?

Jun 12, 2019

I have a project where I am attempting to teach laboratorians to use CO2 gas.  They need to learn to turn the valve counter-clockwise to turn on the gas and then set the pressure.

I was able to get the needle to move as the dial is turned, and I was able to get the pressure indicator ball to go up when that dial is turned.   But they are going the wrong way.

Is there a way to set the Dial to go counter-clockwise to open the valve?

Hi Michael,

I am not aware of any way to make the dial turn anti-clockwise, although I think it is a good idea and is perhaps something you might want to share with the Articulate team.

As an alternative, I have attached a demonstration that uses layers and entrance animations to cause the valve to turn one full turn anti-clockwise when Open is selected and one full turn clockwise when Close is selected. Unfortunately, the maximum control you can get from this arrangement is a quarter-turn, which may not suit your requirement, however it may give you some ideas to work on.

Achieving the quarter-turn option and controlling the other components in your diagram will take a bit more work, but if you want to head down this path and are having problems with the set-up, just get back to me here.

For the purpose of the demonstration, I have left the outlines of the selectable rectangles  over the words Open and Close visible.
