We are a pharmacy company, we are using the Free Trial Storyline 360 version and then decide what software should we use to create E-learning lessons. We are having a E-learning large scale project for employee training. I have some questions about this Software, hope you can help me.
How many Scene, Slide, Variable and Triggers can I create?
I need about 100 Scenes, 5000 Slides, 8000 Variables, and a huge of Triggers.
I don't know exactly what limits Storyline has for scenes, slides, variables, and triggers. There is an overall size limit for a .story file, which you might be able to track down by searching the Forum (or just directly asking the support staff).
I do know that I would hate to take a course with 5000 slides. Even if a person spent only 1 second on each slide, that would add up to more than 83 minutes.
Also, if you'll be hosting the course on a Learning Management System (LMS), a course that big wouldn't be able to resume properly. SCORM 2004 (editions 3 & 4) has a 64,000 character limit for suspend/resume data. That's plenty for most courses, but could be used up just trying to track that many variables.
No matter what software you end up with, I suggest dividing that content into much smaller courses.
SL will let you create far more of everything than sound pedagogical principles (or as Judy suggests, your LMS) will allow and far more than any employee can endure or absorb. You are not describing a course, but 100 courses.
