Insert Published Storyline Content into an App

May 18, 2016

We have a software developer creating an App for us that will have various components. We plan to deploy the app to Android and iOS. Our software developer is using Appcelerator Titanium to create the App. One part of the App will include e-learning training, which we would prefer to create via Articulate Storyline.

Can Articulate output (probably published for the Web, not LMS) be embedded within our new App?

Initially, our software designer seems to think this is not possible, because there are flash components of the output, and many mobile devices to not work well with flash.

Could anyone provide any insight into this question? Or forward it to someone who can help us?

Hi Michael,

It's not something that our staff can offer support for, but perhaps someone in the community will be able to weigh in here. As far as the content on mobile devices, you can choose to include HTML5 output and if you access the course on a device that doesn't support Flash they'll see the HTML5 output as detailed here.

Hi Michael,

They still need to be included in the published output folder, but the HTML5 content isn't playing the SWF files as even if you had inserted an SWF file it won't be supported in the HTML5 output.  I know other users have mentioned removing all the SWF files from their published output folders - but it's not something we can offer support for or advise.
