Articulate Mobile Player App - General Question

Jun 13, 2013

I know that in order for the app to relay information back to an LMS, the LMS must be Tin Can-friendly. Is there any workaround for this?

Also, if we don't need the course to talk back to the LMS, can the app work? Or does the app not work at all with unfriendly LMSs?

My understanding is that the hierarchy of playback options is this:

If flash player exists, flash version plays.

If flash player does not exist and html5 output and app files included in output, course will play in app if on iPad.

If flash player does not exist and html5 output and app files included in output, course will play in HTML5 if on any other device.

Is this correct?

Thanks!

Nick

Nick,

I haven't seen a work around for the LMS reporting.

However, you should still be able to launch the course from your LMS and use the app.  In this case, the LMS really just serves as a CMS serving up the content.

As for the playback hierarchy.  You are correct.  Flash - App - HTML5.

However, there are instances where you want folk to be able to access different versions. If this is the case, then you can use the index_html5.html file and this will bypass the app and go directly to html5.

Hope this helps...

Mike
