HI - is there a way to create a moble app training for customers using Storyline 1? For example, how can you screen record/take video on a moble device to create the mobel app training? We need to train customers on how to use the moble app and it's features. Any thoughts or is this possible?
Unfortunately you would not be able to use the record function directly on a mobile device. Here are the system requirements for authoring content with Storyline. You could take a video from another source and import that into a Storyline file, then publish for mobile devices. I am not familiar with screen recording on mobile devices, but I am sure if other members have ideas, they will share ideas.
You could use an app like Reflector (http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/ ) to mirror you iOS device screen onto a desktop and then record it with Storyline. There are similiar apps for Android devices. Here is one app for newer Samsung devices: http://www.samsung.com/ca/article/samsung-sidesync/ Also, you could 'fake' an app by taking static screens and then assemble them in Storyline, see an example from my blog here: http://wp.me/p2BoUf-aK
We have found the best solutions to be recording the iPad with an external video recorder (this allows the learner to see the different hand gestures) or animate using screenshots (which is time consuming, but results are pretty good). I looked into Reflector, but was not really pleased with the results.
@Alison: what were the issues that you experienced with the Reflector app? Was it a problem with screen resolution? I had tried Reflector with the original iPad (1024*768 screen) and the recordings looked good to me. But I also wondered what the results would be like with the newer, higher-res screen iPads. I'm just curious...
