I’m working with mac...
1. Select an object either in the slide or timeline and press the Delete key on your keyboard: ok
2. Right-click on a group in the slide and select Group > Ungroup. : I don’t have this option with the right-click… can I find it somewhere in the menu?
2. To ungroup, the Windows keyboard shortcut is CTRL+SHIFT+G. I don't have a Mac in front of me, but I'm sure you can 'translate' that key combination to the Mac keyboard.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing while working on your project file. The delete key on your mac is more like a backspace key on a Windows keyboard.
