How to enable user to exit the quiz and comeback without losing their work

Jan 21, 2019

  1. I have created a quiz that I am now trying on a LMS. Initially I thought if learners exited they could come back and start from where they left. This is not happening. At the moment the system is showing 1% completion when they have done way more than 1%. How can can I make sure that when the learner exits the quiz they can come and resume from where they left?
  2. The other option is how can put "save and exit" on this quiz if that is the solution?

Hi Naison!

Storyline has three settings for resume behavior, and it sounds like Prompt to Resume is the best option for you.  This option asks learners if they want to pick up where they left off.

You can enable this setting by clicking the Home tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Player. When the Player Properties window appears, click Other on the ribbon.

In the Resume section of the window, choose Prompt to Resume from the On restart drop-down list.

Let me know if that helps!

Hi Alyssa

Its not working. I have set Prompt to Resume. Did 11 questions and then
logged out. Upon logging on again I was taken to where Left i.e. question
12. I did 3 more questions and logged out again. When I logged on I was
taken to question 12 again instead of question 16. I have tried more than
once but it keeps on resuming on question 12.

Thanks for the additional detail, Naison.

That is certainly the recommendation we would make for the resume data to work best.
