Cant get euro symbol to display, is shows blank in design mode and project view. tried copying from word & ppt still no luck. please help! im using update 3 of storyline.
Are you by any chance using the Articulate font for your text box? I noticed that with this font, the Euro symbol is not displayed. If I use another font like Arial, it does show up.
Thanks for calling my attention to that Michael. I did some digging and found that it occurs with all Articulate font and has been reported as a bug with our QA Team, so the workaround would be to use a different font just as you have shown Sinead. I will add this thread to the 'list'
Leslie - it would be really helpful to understand the limitations on this one, because we cannot all just change to Arial.
I'm sure I have reported this on more than one occasion, all stemming from Case Number: 00128486 4 years ago!
I know it turned up in the SL Beta.
It would help enormously to have some detailed explanation of SL font limitations overall - as they do seem to need some special nurturing and care, and we need to be able to explain this to clients.
I still have some issues with font changed to arial and in a new project there is issue with 1. showing square box 2. not aligned correctly
Ive tried many different ways to insert euro symbol, keyboard input, copy/paste etc none is showing correctly and its happening very random too. see attached screenshots. This is happening in preview/publish mode.
Sorry we missed your post last week, and Bruce is correct it was the Thanksgiving holiday. I see that back in September you were able to resolve it, I assume you changed from the Articulate font? Can you share what fonts you're using in the two samples you shared so that I can share that with our QA team? If you're able to share the .story file here with us as well I can add that to the information I'll share with QA.

Thanks changed font this fixed it
Hi Sinead! Glad that Michael was able to help you out here
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes by the way!
That doesn't answer the question though why the Articulate font does not allow for the Euro symbol to be used :-(

I agree Bruce, and yes, it is your reports that I found. I will share your thoughts as well.

...imagine if this were the $ sign...sure it would be fixed in 10 minutes flat.
Any help on this? This is very poor customer experience!
Sinead - I suspect everyone on Thanksgiving yesterday, and there may be a backlog today.
I usually just do what you do - I keep trying fonts, sizes and positions until I find SOMETHING that looks OK.
The last time I had the problem I had to use Arial 18pt against another Font (Digitalstrip) 16pt to get something that looked reasonable.
It really needs sorting out though, and sorry that you have had to join the ranks of us who have just tried to do something "normal" and failed.

Hi Sinead and Bruce,
I heard back from our QA team regarding the Articulate font not supporting the Euro symbol, and you'll see that information detailed here.
