In my storyline project having Quiz integration. I have one Main slide and two layers [Correct and incorrect layer]. The question and choose the best answers having in the main side. For this integrationi want to show the submit button only in the Main side [want to Hide the previous and Next button ].
Suppose the user chose the correct answer and then click the submit button, It will go to Correct layer. In this layer i want to hide the submit button and show how to show the previous and next button.
Just want to make sure I'm understanding what you're wanting to accomplish. You want only the "Submit" button on the main question layer, but you want to enable the "Next" and "Previous" buttons on the feedback layers. Correct?
By default, the "Continue" button will be displayed on the "Correct" feedback layer. Are you not wanting to use this option?
I'm afraid you cannot control the display of the navigational buttons from a layer, unfortunately. What you could do, however, is create custom "Submit", "Previous" and "Next" buttons for your slide and layers. When the "Correct" layer is displayed, you could hide the "Submit" button and trigger a "Next" button.
I found the information provided in this reply was invaluable in helping me complete my own quiz in Storyline. Thank you for your outline, as I spent a long time trying to figure out how to remove the submit button from a layer, alas to no avail, however a quick search in this forum gave me the answer straight away.
I'm a little confused with this. My base layer has "submit" but my slide layers, in my question, have the continued button. From the feedback from course reviewers, both buttons are visible and are causing confusion. I need the submit button on the base, but want the continue button to work on the slides.
Without seeing your file, it sounds like you need this trigger on your quiz slide layers:
Hide layer This layer when the user clicks the Continue button.
Try adding that trigger, and let me know if you see an improvement. Otherwise, I'd be happy to take a closer look! You can attach a copy of your file right here.
Hi, at least with Storyline 360, I've found that you can create a trigger to change the state of the "submit" button to "hidden" on feedback layers.
To set that up. while on the feedback layer, create a trigger with the following settings=> Action: change state of, On Object: Submit button (listed under "buttons on this player), To state: hidden When: timeline starts, Object: [name of layer]

Would something like that work for you?

Hi Michael! I'm so glad to hear this thread was a time-saver for you! Precisely the reason why we don't archive older threads :)

Hello from many years later, this reply was very helpful! I didn't even realize there was a trigger available to control this behavior. Awesome.
So glad that this forum thread with Morton's tip was able to help you out, Joseph!
Happy Developing ✨
