How to number questions from a question bank in TWO quizzes
Sep 28, 2019
I have a course with two quizzes (pre-test and post-test). Both quizzes draw from the same question bank. I want the questions in each quiz to be numbered (e.g., Question 1 of 10) and I'm using a variable to accomplish that. It works great in the pre-test. BUT - in the post-test, the numbering starts at 11, because it's carrying over from the pre-test. Since I'm using the same question bank for both, it's all the same variable, and I know that's what causing hte issue. But I can't figure out how to fix it - short of just using two separate question banks (which would both have the exact same questions, but I'd use a different variable in each for the question count). Any idea for a better way to do this??

Hi Sheila
Reset the question variable by trigger.
I’m assuming here that there is an introductory slide to say now you’ll attempt the post test - if so on that slide set a trigger to adjust variable (questionNum) to 0 when timeline starts on that slide.
You’d do the same on the tesults slide if you are allowing Retry or Review buttons. Make sure the adjust variable trigger is before the reset or jump to triggers.
Hope that makes sense
Wendy, yes, that makes sense, I'll give that a try. Thank you!!
