How to save a Storyline project as an sl file locally

Jul 29, 2016

Hi everyone,

A colleague of mine who no longer works for my company used to be able to save a storyline project as an sl1 file locally to a folder on her computer.  See instructions she gave me attached.

With Storyline 2 I have to supply a log in when publishing to articulate online and provide an articulate url.  But I don't want to load it online.  I just want the file sl file.

Your help is greatly appreciated!  The file looks something like this.

Thanks,

Nann

Hi, Nann -- Thanks so much for reaching out here! Apologies if I am not understanding what you are looking for, but here is some information on working locally for your review, and also some additional information on Publishing a Course for Articulate Online. And unfortunately, if you are hoping to extract a project file from published output that was already uploaded to Articulate Online to apply changes or edits, that will not be possible.  Any additional details you might be able to provide would be appreciated!

Hi Nann,

As you'll see in Walt's tab and the link Christie shared, you'll want to click on the other tab for publish to Wed instead of Articulate online. Then you'll be able to choose the folder where the files should go - but please note that saving locally is typically your C:\ drive or your desktop so you'll want to ensure you're not saving to a network or shared drive as that's known to cause file corruption and other issues with the files.
