How to start with Articulate?

May 26, 2017

I am currently making animated videos using DIY toolsets and want to start with e-learning. I have gone thru the getting started guide for articulate and have worked on few courses using trial license (with an experienced ID). I am looking for answers for below questions:

Which version shall I buy - Articulate 360 or just Storyline 2? As I see that most of the projects available on freelancing websites ask for Storyline 2.

How can I start as a newbie? People are looking for experienced IDs. I am open to help experienced IDs for free or at a bare minimum payout that supports the licensing cost of Articulate.

As a freelancer, how you managed with the annual licensing cost? I wish they had an option of monthly or quarterly license.

Hi Rachna! First, congratulations on taking the first steps to becoming an Instructional Designer! I know you'll find E-Learning Heroes a supportive resource. My colleagues and I on the Success Team will be happy to talk with you about our software to help you choose what's right for you. Give us a call at 800.861.4880 x1 or send us an email here.

There are lots of great resources here to help you get started. Take a look at our eBooks for example. There a lot of great titles to choose from and they're all free! Our E-Learning 101 section has a ton of great resources too.

As a newbie, it's important to build a portfolio of work that you can show prospective clients. One of our community members started a great series on how to do that here. A great way to build content for your portfolio is to get involved with our Weekly Challenges

And, when you're ready to start looking for work, we have a jobs hub too.

I hope that helps get you started, Rachna. Good luck!

Hello Rachna!

I'll let the community speak to the topic of how to get started with your business :)

As far as which product to purchase, you may want to take a look at the comparisons here. Keep in mind that Articulate 360 includes a full suite of products and you can read more about that here.

If you must supply the source file to your customers, please keep in mind that Storyline 360 is not reverse compatible to Storyline 2.

Good luck in your decision and getting your business up and running.

If you wish to speak with our sales team to discuss further, you can reach them here.
