http vs https

Aug 21, 2018

I have been using the https address for a storyline course. We have had no problems. In the course we have live searches in our library databases. This week the searches no longer work. Our IT prefers we use a secure connection. How can I make the course work now?

Hi Barbette!

It sounds like this issue has more to do with your hosting site than with Storyline. Hopefully the community can point you in the right direction, and here are a few questions to get you started:

  • Where is your published content hosted?
  • Do you know if the hosting site supports secure https content?
  • Do you see a difference when you use http instead?

Hi there, Barbette!  Do you have a web object inserted in your Storyline course?  It sounds like that's how you're accessing the search data base.  Were you using https: in the URL for the web object, and now it's no longer working?  Did anything change where the database is hosted?

If you'd like to share your .story file the way you have it now, we're happy to have a look!
