Without seeing your quiz it's hard to tell for certain, but one thing I'd check into is if you're doing the quiz more than once, have you reset the results? Also are there unused results variables that could be adding to the overall score, as it sounds to me like there are answers providing additional points to the overall score. Importing into a new project may also fix this.
