idea for SL feature

Feb 13, 2013

Hi,

It would be very helpful if I could preview the transition between scenes without having to preview the entire project.

Can you add that feature or does it exist and I just don't know about it?

Tks,

Alan

Okay, for example, I have a story with three scenes (A, B, C).  The last slide in scene A jumps to the first slide in scene B when the timeline in the last slide in scene A ends.  However, the last slide in scene A also includes a link to a PDF or  video or something else that consumes time.  The first slide in scene B includes a timing feature so an object is to change its state to hidden after, say 6 seconds.

It would be very helpful to see what actually happens when the learner goes from scene A to scene B.  Right now, the only way I know how to do that is replay the entire project and watch for the transition between scene A and B.

I have 8 scenes in my story and some 55 slides with bunches of layers.  It's tedious to have to have to wait for SL to process the entire project and then preview the story to see how the transition between scene 6 and 7 works.

So my idea, is to have a feature that allows me to go from the last slide in one scene to the first one in the next.  Seeing paths is not the same a seeing what actually happens.

Hi Alan,

That's a pretty cool idea I'm picturing maybe a "developer" section to the right or left of the Preview that displays this additional information about the slide and what happens when certain objects, etc are used. If you haven't already, I'd definitely recommend sharing this suggestion with our development team.

Thanks Alan!
