Couple of days back I created a course with videos and published it worked fine in IE8... The same course I am publishing it again, the video is not working.
Testing it locally as that article mentions can have unintended consequences, so you'll want to test within the intended environment to confirm whether or not it's working. If that still causes difficulty we'll want to take a look at the .story file.
Good morning! The enclosed course worked in IE8 last week, but today when I published the course again after some edits, it doesn't work. Can you please take a look at this course for me?
I tried the course in Tempshare as well and it works fine in IE8... then my concern is why doesn't it play locally on my Laptop... I am having the same issue when I publish the course in our LMS. The video doesn't come up.
Hi Zain! Be sure you are uploading and viewing the content as your learner would. We do not expect this to work properly when being viewed locally. Ashley's first solutions should assist with this.
There is another thing I want you to check, the same course is taking almost 40 mins to publish in SL2. Have you heard anyone else complaining about the publishing?
I told this to Ashley/David Anderson when I met them in Orlando at LSCon.

Hi Zain,
Where are you hosting the published output? You'll want to confirm you're testing it as described here.
Additionally there are some known reasons documented here on why a video may not play.
Hi Ashley,
The strange thing is that I am able to view the other course in IE 8 that I created with embedded videos.
This one is the only one giving me problems.. I even converted the video to wmv format but still not working in IE 8.
It works in Chrome tho.
To your question, I haven't hosted it as yet. It's just on my laptop.

Hi Zain!
I took a look at your file and published to Tempshare:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/tempshare-stage.storyline.articulate.com/stp19kfssp2q6ma1o1k1n131b951n44/story.html
I used the IE8 emulator, and had no issue. Do you have the same issue viewing the course above?
Did you check the documentation that Ashley shared above about the videos not playing and common reasons?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any other way? Our default browser is IE8.

Your course did not take that long to publish on my end. Have you tried a repair of your software?
Hi Zain,
I'm so forgetful with names/faces at conferences - but I'd agree with Leslie's thought here to ensure you've gone through the repair steps.
