Illistrated Characters
Oct 03, 2013
Newbie here. I recently started using Articulate Presenter 09 and have been exploring Storyline. I develop safety-related training programs primarily for the oil refining industry. There are specific personal protective equipment (PPE) items everyone must wear while in a refinery (flame resistant coveralls with long sleeves, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves).
Is it possible to modify any of the characters clothing to match what is required in the Petrochemical Industry? I'm sure there are others out there who have the similar requirements.

I too am interested in this Cliff.
Hey Cliff and Paul,
You can check out my website. Other than selling stock illustrated characters that work in storyline, I can create custom characters with specific clothing, expressions, and poses. If you have any questions, you can contact me at jerson[at]visual-e-learning.com
Hi, Cliff:
From my understanding, the Storyline characters are a bit tricky to modify. One route you might go is to find a graphic design person who specializes in creating custom characters for elearning. I've used Jerson Campos for some custom work, and you can find his site at visual-e-learning.com Of course, you can always google "custom characters elearning" and you'll come up with others. Hope that helps. --Daniel
Hi Cliff and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Looks like you've gotten some assistance here.
What a great testimony for Jerson's work that Daniel was mentioning it at the same time
Paul;
Would you be interested in sharing the cost to develop the petrochemical PPE characters? The only thing we would like to see is navy blue coveralls similar to your photo and white hard hats. We also need to add red safety vests to a full set of characters who are in coveralls to represent our Safety Attendants. We could use other color coveralls as well, if they were available. Your thoughts??
You can save the characters as images, edit the image in Photoshop or similar, then re-import it into Storyline as a different 'state' for the character. I saw a tutorial on how to do this somewhere, but sorry, I can't find it! Anyone else?
Hi Steve,
You may be thinking of this thread, where there's a David Anderson screenr on creating your own character packs.
Cliff,
Sounds good to me. It's definitely worth exploring.
Paul
Cliff - Glad you are getting the assistance you need and thanks to Paul for assisting.
Steve - Thanks for popping in with some assistance and Becky for bringing the visual to your suggestion
