I have a published story that appears as an empty file in articulate and I need to update some of the information as we use this story lots. I have tried importing from the output folder but it doesn't work, what am I doing wrong?
The story file seems to be empty is there anyway I can reverse the process and put what's in the output folder back into the .story format to adjust the slides?
The .story file isn't included in the published output - so if you no longer have access to the original file, there isn't a way to reverse engineer it.
I am experiencing a similar problem. We are moving onto a new LMS and need to move our eLearning's to this but also update them from Flash to HTML. I only have access to the published output but they were created in house but we do not have access to the original files on Articulate. Is there anything I can use from the save published files to reupload them back into Articulate?
Importing a published file into Storyline 360 isn't supported.
You'll need the original source file to make any changes to the project and republish with HTML5 output. The source file uses .story as the file type. If any of those files were also created in PowerPoint, you could import PowerPoint files into Storyline 360. Here are the steps!

To update the course you need to find and open the source file, which should have a .story extension.

No, sorry. Without the source data you have nothing.

Thanks for your help, the output still works so not all is lost but I will have to create another story.
Best wishes, Maria

Nadia,
I'm glad this thread helped you even if it wasn't the answer you were looking for.
