Importing excel multichoice reorders distracters

Jun 20, 2021

Hi,

During testing I noticed that many of my multichoice options in the Final Assessment where scoring and reporting takes place had been reordered (the bold is the correct option) eg

  •  500kPa
  • 750kPa-850kPa
  • 750kPa-950kPa

became:

  • 750kPa-850kPa
  • 500kPa
  • 750kPa-950kPa

However where these questions appear in the course content for the user to check how they are doing, without any scoring, the options are not reordered.

I checked the excel file from where I imported them, and these were correctly ordered.

I then checked the "shuffle" option and this was set to "none".

This makes testing a pain plus my client receives a Word script to check against and they will also notice that it does not match to the Storyline output

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi Sylvia,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing these details; happy to help here!

If I understand correctly, you see that the order of options is reordered specifically in the Final Assessment, even though the options in another area are listed correctly. But, all in all, it’s the same text, so it should be listed the same in both places. Do you see this behavior in the LMS or while previewing the course as well?

If possible, I’d like to look at your project to understand what you’ve created so far. You can share the .story file publicly in this discussion or upload it privately in a support case.
