Importing Storyline into Rise

Oct 22, 2021

Hi Everyone,

I am new to storyline and rise and am wondering how I can import storyline into rise so it looks seamless to the end-user. Currently, it shows as a black screen with a play button. Is there any way or remove this. (screenshot attached)

Thanks in advance

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Hania! ⭐️

Happy to help share some guidance: Use Storyline Blocks to Embed Storyline 360 Courses into Rise 360.

Do you have audio or video on the first slide? If so, this is the expected behavior since the browser requires a "click" to allow autoplay of media. You can prevent this by adding an intro slide to the beginning of the Storyline block that contains no media files.

Let me know if I'm off base and we can keep at this!

Hi, Bunni!

Thanks so much for reaching out and detailing the issue you're experiencing. Is this only happening with one specific course? Additionally, have you tried viewing the course in a different browser?

If you're comfortable sharing your file, I'd be happy to take a look at what's going on! You can upload it here or privately in a support case and we'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

Hi Kelly, it's happening to all of my Storyline courses that have audio. The first slides do not have audio. Everything was working normally as of last week, I'm using Microsoft Edge. This all started happening this week after republishing the same courses.

I did attempt to send the file yesterday, here is the info for that...

Case Details: Hello, regarding a case I just opened, I'm following up with my course upload...

Case Details: Hello, I'm having trouble publishing a file that contains media. I'm trying to publish in Storyline 360 so I can import into Rise. The file contains audio and it is set to User advance. I've been publishing these audio files for a couple years now and understand the first slide cannot contain audio if I'm trying to get around that black screen. However, as of this week, all of the courses I'm publishing have the black screen, even though the first slide does not contain audio. Please let me know if this is something that can be solved...

We'll be in touch soon. Have a good day

Hi, Bunni!

Thanks so much for updating this thread with your case information. I see you connected with my teammate, Ryan, who let you know we released a new update for Storyline 360, Build 3.83.31444.0 that fixes this issue!

Updates are free for Articulate 360 subscribers. Simply open the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button. You can see further details here. Additionally, feel free to check out the release notes to see what else is included in this update!

Lastly, just a quick note that replying via email includes your signature here so you are welcome to edit the post and remove that information if you wish.

Thank you so much for the quick response, I did import the update and the issue is resolved. I have another question. I’m hearing from a couple people that training is timing out while they are actively working on it. Are there any settings in the app that would impact timing out? Not sure if this is an issue with our network, or if I’m missing something in the Storyline/Rise settings?

Hi Bunni!

Thank you for following up! So glad to hear updating Storyline 360 solved your issue!

You shouldn't have to modify settings within Storyline or Rise to prevent the application from timing out. To clarify, are the colleagues who experience this issue working locally? Or from a network/shared drive? We recommend working locally in order to avoid erratic behavior.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
