I'm looking into using a learning management system, but am finding that most of the options are firms who offer a cloud-based, subscription service.
Are there solutions for selling e-learning online which can be run from a server in-house? It seems that this could be the cost-effective option in the long run.
The Moodle LMS offers a downloadable version which can be run from a local server...
Technically speaking the course can be "run" from any web server (topmost publishing option). The LMS (or similar) is required if you wish to track progress, student responses and grading.

Thanks Brian!
Meridian still offers an install behind the firewall option I believe.
