Input text field

Jun 03, 2015

Hi,

I am developing a module which has assessment/quiz. This has one question with text entry box. I want the user to enter the response but the score should be sent whatever might be the response with just one feedback. Is this possible and how can this be done?

Thanks,

Soniya

Yes you are right i dont care what the user enter's.. He/she would get a feedback what ever may be the responses and a score should sent on both correct or an incorrect answere is given.

Eg:

->Question: What is 2+2 -> User enters 5 -> feedback the correct answer is 4 -> a score of 10 should be passed...

Hope this is clear, let me know if you need any further details.

Hi Soniya

you will need to use the Numeric entry graded quiz for numbers and the data entry for text.

then set up the acceptable numeric values is equal to 4

and change the Incorrect points from 0 to 10.  That way the user can enter any value and get the 10 points score you want but feedback will be incorrcet the correct answer is 4.

Hello Friends,

I have a 'input box' related question. So, I would like learners to answer a few questions, and then the learners can compare their answers to the ideal response(s). This course will be posted in LMS. It works great. However, after every use, the learner responses are wiped off. How can we program it so that the learner responses are saved when the learner re-logs to LMS and tries out this course. Is this possible? Many thanks.

Hello Indrani,

I did a quick test in SCORM Cloud to confirm if it is expected behavior for scores from the same learner to be overwritten in an LMS, and it appears that this is the case.

I'd recommend touching base with your LMS admin to see if they can treat each of your learner's attempts as a new entry in the reporting section instead. This way, none of the recorded responses will be overwritten when you pull up the report for your course. I'll also leave this post to the very capable hands of our community so they can chime in with other suggestions on how they were able to approach a similar situation.
