Insert audio not working

This may be a simple question, but my record audio simply quite working. The timer counts down from 2 to 1, but then just stops.  Nothing happens.

Hi Kris,

I'm sorry that you run into this issue, let me help you on this. First can we check if the default playback device is set to your speaker? To check that here's the instruction:

Go to the Insert tab on the Storyline ribbon, click the Audio drop-down arrow, and choose Options then select a speaker for your default playback device. 

Also, I just would like to check if the Audio itself is working in preview? To check that, right click the audio in the timeline then hit on Preview Audio. If you're still not hearing anything there must be wrong with the recording and we can try to redo the recording. If it's working in preview and you would like to use the same recording you can export it to your local disk and add it back. 

One more thing, a trigger can also cause the audio to pause or stop so I suggest to check that as well. I hope you can share the story here so we can check and help you further.

Hi Kris,

I'm sorry that I misunderstood your question. Is this happening to all of your materials or just this specific one you're working on? Possible that the Application doesn't recognize your Mic device, I found an article on how you can make sure that your mic is properly installed on your Computer. Hope that helps!
