There are probably a ton of options here! The built in "text entry" field will show "type your text here" and you could also always change that from the player text entry labels.
I'd also suggest reaching out in theBuilding Better Courses side of ELH and see if there is anyone who can help! That side tends to focus more on design and how to.

this is what one client does.
We have an instruction that display once all actions have occurred on the slide
If they click on the next arrow without entering their name we have a popup hint
The popup hint disappears when they click in the text box (not foolproof)
