Inserting video with sign language in sync

Feb 16, 2023

Hello,

I have an issue regarding the accessibility of my videos.

I would like to make a video accessible to deaf people; specifically I need to add to the main video a second video with sign language that users can play in sync with the main video.

The solution I envisioned would be to add the sync video inside a layer, that can be showed when the video is played.

However, I need the sign language video to play in sync with the main video. So, for instance, if the user plays the main video and decides to show the layer with the sign language video at minute 5:23 the sing language video must start exactly at minute 5:23, not from the begginning.

Can I do that?

Hello Team RDL,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can use Replay 360's picture-in-picture feature to directly add your sign language videos to your main videos.

This way, the two videos will always be perfectly in sync no matter what the user does on the slide. Here's how:

I understand that not all of your learners will need to see the sign language video, so one thing you can do is to place your videos in layers, and then provide your learners with the ability to select if they want to watch your video with our without sign language available.

I'll let other members of the community chime in to see if they have other suggestions that they'd be willing to share so you can explore your options.
